    This is professional work in developing and implementing nutrition and dietetic services.  The work requires knowledge of nutrition and dietetics and knowledge of objectives, practices and procedures of nutrition programs which are usually gained through education and training.  Contacts require skills in understanding, influencing and communicating with others and are important in providing services to program participants.   The work is performed following substantially diversified procedures and standards with latitude permitted in considering which among many procedures should be followed in what sequence and involves differing situations requiring the use of judgment in searching for solutions or new applications.  The work is performed primarily indoors where there are some risks and hazards, but they are known, predictable and controllable.  Physical demands are minimal.  Operates a vehicle and standard office equipment such as personal computers using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other related software, peripheral and electronic devices, copiers and calculators.   The work is performed under limited supervision where the work assignments are subject to practices and procedures covered by precedents and well-defined policies and the work is reviewed, usually after the fact, in terms of quality, volume, timeliness and adherence to methods, standards and policies.

    A Full Time Registered Dietitian job in Jacksonville, FL is available through Nutritious Lifestyles. As an RD you will be addressing consults, completing assessments, teaching group classes, providing nutrition education, and quality assurance monitoring in the kitchen to elevate their food and nutrition services programs, improve patient/food customer satisfaction levels, and get ready for TJC surveys.     Job Description

    Job Summary:

    The Community Dietician provides medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.



    • Assesses patients for nutritional status. Provides interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements.
    • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
    • Monitors tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary.
    • Provides nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications.
    • Provides nutrition education and counseling to the general public
    • Develops plans and implements nutrition curriculum for the general public.
    • Teaches nutrition concepts to a wide range of ethnic groups and socioeconomic status.



    • Required Credential(s):
      • Registry Eligible Dietitian/Nutritionist .  
    • Preferred Credential(s):
      • Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Florida Department of Health. 


    • Bachelor's Level Degree 
      • BS degree and Internship, AP four program, or other qualifying experience to be registry eligible or a registered dietician in the state of Florida

    The University of North Florida Flagship Department of Nutrition & Dietetics invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure track Instructor of Nutrition and Dietetics starting in for fall 2018-summer 2019. This position is part of an initiative to improve nutrition education and counseling skills and community based learning of BS Nutrition students. A Masters in Nutrition, RD/LD and experience teaching Nutrition Counseling and Nutrition Education are required.

    Responsibilities include teaching in the undergraduate program, especially, but not limited to, nutrition education, counseling, food fundamentals, food fundamentals labs, and community nutrition courses, assisting with submission of APCs and curriculum revision, coordinating and tracking course related community service learning experiences, performing service to the department, college, university, and the profession.
